WHY

Empowered to Connect offers hope that healing is within reach for families who have welcomed kids from hard places into their homes. The adoption and foster care journey does not end the day a child is welcomed into a loving family. In many ways, it is just the beginning. This conference provides practical tools to better care for children impacted by adoption, foster care or traumatic experiences. It incorporates Trust-Based Relational InterventionⓇ (TBRI) methods developed by the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development to help facilitate attachment and connection in families.

continuing education credits for Professionals

Continuing education credits and/or certificates of completion will be available to simulcast attendees. An additional registration & fee will be required for all professionals seeking continuing education credits. This registration for continuing education credit can be found here. Continuing education is for licensed professionals only and is not the same as adoptive/foster training credits.

certificates for adoptive & foster parents

Adoptive and Foster Care Parent Certificates of Participation will be provided to parents interested in receiving credit per their hours of training. No extra registration is required. Each adoptive and foster parent will receive a certificate of attendance at the end of the conference. Attendees are responsible for providing the certificate to their agency, and it is at the agency’s discretion whether or not to count participation toward training credits. Each participant must provide their agency a copy of their certificate. You will be required to sign-in and sign-out each day at the conference in order to receive a certificate.
